SOLICITOR IN TROUBLE.

LAW SOCIETY TAKES ACTION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Court of Appeal heard an application this morning to strike off the roll of barristers and solicitors F. J. Tipping, of Auckland.' Mr. A. R. Meek appeared for the New Zealand Law Society in support of the application,, and Mr. P. Jackson for Tipping. \ Mr. Jackson said the amount of shortage in Tipping's trust account was small, and this had been made up. The lapse was, he said, due. to drink, and Tipping had now taken the pledge not to take drink again. He suggested that suspension for a period would be sufficient punishment. Mr. Meek • contended that suspension would not be sufficient punishment. The only appropriate remedy was to strike Tipping off the rolls. The Court reserved its decision.
