CLIMBING EVEREST.
TRANSPORT DIFFICULTIES, ARDUOUS JOURNEY IN SNOW. (Received 2.30 p.m.! LONDON, April 23. General Bruce, of the Everest expedition, reports from Kampa Dzong, under date of April 12, that the party arrived at Yatung, via Pari Ozone, where advance stores were collected. There was much difficulty iv securing transport animals, but eventually they got. a miscellaneous collection of 320 yaks, bullocks, mules, and donkeys. The journey against driving snow was most arduous, but the advance party succeeded in pitching camp near the nunnevv of Takum. at a height of 1600 ft. Both men and animals were greatly exhausted in the last stage of the journey to Kampa Dzong through undulating plains teeming with donkeys, goats and gazelles. AH the party are well.—('-Times.")
