"As the cheap long-dated loans resulting from the Advances to Settlers' Act have fn the past been of immense benefit to primary producers aud the Dominion, this conference urges the Government, as soon as cheap money is available, to take such steps as will ensure an adequate fund being rnaie available to The Advances to Settlers' Office. in order that the country's production may he increased to the maximum and all reasonable requirements met." "That this conference urges upon the Government the Imperative need for redneing the bank rate of interest on overdraft*, nnd the necessity to insist that the Bank of _Tetv Zealand rate be immediately reduced to correspond more nearly with that of the Bank of England." Representation on Industrial Tribunals.—■ •That in view of the important bearing on primary producers, of awards of industrial tribunals, covering certain industries, this conference urges that legislation be passed, giving producers the right to be heard iv such cases where their Industries are of iranortance. " Co-operative Marketing.—"That this conference make every endeavour to bring primary prodncers together witb a view to co-operation in marketing, and set up a committee representative of this district to take action as thought necessary to give this effect." Unity In Co-operation.—"As unity is s essential in co-operation, this conference requests the provisional executive to take early steps to endeavour to bring co-opera-tive companies together in conference with a view to discussion of co-operation in business." Produce Handling on Wharves.—"That. this conference take Immediate practical . steps to bring about an overdue improTCj tnent for the handling of primary products on the waterfronts." Delays to Unloading.—"This conference home of opinion that delays to the unloading of ships of New Zealand produce in British ports is detrimenta : -to the pTO- • ducers' best interests, urge the Dominion Bxecntivp to take such steps at earliest as thought fit to prevent the delays."
