ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY.

THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of -the Auckland Acclimatisation Society was held in the Chamber of Commerce last evening. Mr. C. A. Whitney presided. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. H. IT. Ostler; vice-president, Mr. C. A. Whitney : council. Dr. Chatfield. Messrs. ,1. Cullen, C. H. Ciilpan. B. Grayson, .T. C. Whitnpv, R. Xoakes. J. Gillett. and W. A. Johnson; auditor, Mr. W. J. A. Thomson. A vote of tlianks for past services was passed to Mr. IS. Reynold*, the retiring president.
