REDUCTION OF BONUS. THE P. AND T. ACTION. '■ONE BIG UNION" ENDORSED. ' A meeting of union executives w held last evening in the Foresters' Hah for the purpose of discussing the pro--1 n ounce mc nt of the Arbitration Court regarding the reduction of the wages bonus. Representatives of 20 unions attended. Mr. V. Man in. president of the Auckland Labour Council, was in tbc chair. i It. wa* decided to send Mr. T. Bloodworth to represent Auckland at tbe sitting of the Arbitration Court to he held in Wellington at the ned of the present [ month, when representative* of the four centres "ivill givp evidence on behalf of the unions. In connection with the recent affiliation of the Post and Telegraph Association with the Alliance of Labour the meeting passed the following resolution-. t "Thie meeting of union representatives congratulate? the P. and T. Association on its decision to join the ranks of Labour. The meeting would remind the Employers" Federation and other kindred organisations who are objecting to this decision that the P. and T. Association has a right to any form of organisation along constitutional lines. The meeting therefore pledges itself to support the P. and T. Association if necessary. The meeting went on to consider the question of closer organisation of industrial unions and passed the following: ■'This meeting; recommends that a National Conference be convened for the purpose of considering ways and mean* of amalgamating the Alliance of Labour, i the Australasian Workers' I'nion. and all other trades unions in Xew Zealand"' Mr. L. A resolution as follows was passed at the annual meeting of the Aucishand Tlranch, Public Service Association, last i evening:— I "That this mating expresses its { regret at the attitude adopted by the Post and Telegraph Association in its resolve to link tip with the Alliance of Labour, and conveys to the Prime Minister its assurance of the ioyalty of the members of the general public" service of Auckland."' FARMERS' UNION ACTION. The provincial executive of the '■Farmers" T'nion last evening discussed the recent ballot token by the Post and Telegraph Officers' Association. The chairman i 'Sir. K. D. Duxfield), who introduced the subject, said the action of, the department employee? was a most serious matter. It was intolerable, he added, that a branch of the Public Service should be controlled by a body of extremists. On the motion "of Mr. R. C. Allen it was resolved: "'That the executive deeply regrets the result of the ballot of the employees of the Post and Telegraph Department, by which they have decided to join the' Alliance n'f Labour."'
