MALTA LABOUR PARTY.
(Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, April 10. The political crisis at Malta, has been averted, and no ele-ction will now be necessary. The Government was defeated through the Constitutional and Labour parties combining and passing a resolution demanding the abolition of the Senate and refusing to vote the salaries of the Senators. The 1-abour party has now joined the Coalition on condition that the Government will introduce a hill providing for an eight-hour day and onnpulsory education.—(A. and N.Z.)
