At the swimming club's carnival to-night Miss l'aulinc Hoeft, swimming in the 150 yds men's race, covered the distance in lm 53 2-ss. equalling the world's record for the distance for a lady swimmer. The record of lm 53 2-os claimed to be equalled by Miss Hoeft at Gisborne is not a record. The fastest time recorded is lm 51s, to the credit of Miss .lames at Seaeombe (Eng.), October 31, 1921.
