MARITIME ANNUAL REPORT. CHANGE OF NAME AND COLOURS. The last meeting of the committee of the Maritime League Football nub has just been held, ami tbe annual report of this club has jieen prepared for presentation before the annual meeting, which will be held in a forrniEht's time. At this coming meeting 1: 1» the Intention of the club to change its name to Athletic. The number ot registered players now stands al 130. and last season six teams were entered in the League competitions. The fourth, fifth and the two sixth grade teams are also congratulated upon their showing for the past season." mention is also made of the fact th»t H. Avery was chosen from the club's team to represent New Zealand in Australia, and E. C. Grey was also selected, but was unable to get away. Tlie club held a most successful picnic to Motutapu at the end of the season, about --■000 people spending an enjoyable day. A second picnic was arranged, but owing to wet weather it had to be postponed, causing a nnanclal loss of flu to the club. The committee congratulates the Auckland. Rugby League upon what has been one ol its most successful seasons. The improvements made at Carlaw Park showed that th» Auckland League, is a very energetic body. Last November the committee called a general meeting to discusa the advisability or changing the club's name and colours. After a lengthy discussion It was decided to ask the annnal meeting to confirm the following alterations:—The name to be changed from Maritime to Aihietlc. and the colours from red. white and blue to royal blue wlili a gold band round tjie chest.
