The Xew York "Times" Washington correspondent, says that under the pretext of the collection of funds for Russian famine sufferers, sympathisers with Russian Bolshevism in the United States are being gathered into a vast nationwide organisation, to which senators, governors, bishops, and oilier prominent officials and persons have innocently lent their names as memb.ers of the advisory council.
The Department of Justice is investigating the organisation, which calls itself the American Russian Famine Belief'Organisation. It has been (Tißclowl that it is closely connected with the Russian Red Cross, a semi •official Soviet Government organisation. Hundred* of thousand* of dollar? have tveti raUed, hut very little has been sent to Russia. Well known Communists are directing the organisation, which is altncl-ing the legitimate Hoover relief work —(A. and X.Z. Cable.)
