STOCK INSPECTOR KILLED.
■ (By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. George Albert Sands, stock inspector at Lumsden, was thrown from a horse while riding over jumps yesterday, and sustained injuries from which he died at the Gore Hospital to-day. Dr. McKibbin, AucklaiKns new health officer, left for Wellington by to-day's midday express. It is understood that a lecturing tour will shortly be made throughout New Zealand by the Rev. Mullineux, at; present in charge of the Graves' Commission in France. This tour is to be undertaken for the purpose of raising funds for the continuing of the excellent work already accomplished among the soldiers' graves in France and also to build a hostel at Ypres for the acrommodation of visitors. New Zeaianders who have already visited thd battlefields speak in glowing terms of the splendid work the Rev. Muliineux and his staff are doing, and the geuerovs courtesy he extends to visitors. Besides a long list of military and naval service ns padre, to his credit, the Rev. Muliineux i> well known as an athlete, and was captain of the English Rugby team which visited Australia in 1898. " He is described a* a very forceful and interesting speaker.
