Y.W.C.A. FAIR.

AN ATTRACTIVE DISPLAY. Rather a novel tarn was to tie all-nations fair held at the Y.W.C-A. on Saturday afternoon by the distinctive dresses worn by the girls in charge of the stalls. These dresses were intended to represent the national costume of the country to which they belonged, and the country was shown in miniature by the special arrangement of the separate stalls, or more exactly by the particular products and merchandise "marketed. Such attractive surroundings to the fair doubtless contributed largely to its success and business continued brick throughout the day. Among the stalls were those organised by the Leander Club (representing- New Zealand), by the Hoa Club (representing Greece), by the Liberty Club, and tic Kindred Club. Tho girls of the Overpeas Club organised the stall representing Great Britain, and the Haeremai Club, the Akarana Club, and the Kotiro Club had stalls representing Canada, China, and France respectively. Among the other stalls were noticeable that organised by the Pioneer Club, representing Japan, and the Indian stall by the Fhalasaon Club.

Particularly attractive were the dances and the exhibitions given in the gymnasium, and an additional feature was tlie introduction of sideshows. Those goods which were not sold on Saturday will be disposed of at a garden fair to" be held on Saturday afternoon, Daoember 10, at Mrs. McKail Geddes' residence. The £345 which ha v e come to hand as a result of the first day will be used to further the interests of those branches of the association whose activities include Home andj foreign work.
