REACTION IN BAVARIA

A I'OSTPOBTED COtTP. LONDON, November 24. According to the Berlin correspondent of the "Morning Post,' , Hcrr Munneke, secretory of tbe Pan-Oerman League, speaking in the National Assembly, said that a Monarchist coup was intended a fortnight ago by the proclamation of Rupprceht as liing of Bavaria, but it was abandoned at the last moment owing to Rupprecht's perception that the present time was unpropitious for such an event. The nttenypt. if made, would have given France an excuse to occupy the line on the River Main, and would have plunged Xortli and South Germany into civil war.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
