BECKETT'S MATCHES.
BEADY TO MEET IXOYD. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 23. Joe Beckett has informed "Sporting Life" that he is still awaiting the winner of the Cook-Carpentier fight. Meantime he is willing to meet Lloyd for £500 a-side. Mr. Chas. Lucas, Lloyd's manager, states that before negotiating he wants an assurance that Beckett is in earnest. Lucas is prepared to arrange a match, depositing £250 on signing articles and the balance a week before the fight. Lucas insists on £250 forfeit in the event of Beckett failing to meet the engagement. Lloyd is prepared to meet Joe Goddard or Boy McCormick for £100 a-aide. Townley desires a return match with Lloyd for a sids stake of £100 or £200. " Lloyd and Lucas have intimated that they are agreeable.— (A. and > T .Z. Cable.)
