THE ALOHA ORCHESTRA.

A short season of musical entertainment, varied with dance and other items, was opened at the Town Hall concert chamber last evening hy the Aloha Orchestra, a bright and attractive programme hems jrlven In a stage setting that produced a pleasant illusion of the colour and lansnor of tropic surroundings. The orchestra of banjos, guitars, mandolins, ukeleles ami other instruments of kindred make prodmed melody of a distinctly haunting quality in a variety of combinations, while the dancing turns formed an attractive and dainty Interspprsion of colour and graceful movement. A number of- girls costumed -is maids of Hawaii danced the "Hula Hula." Miss Bettina 'Edwards performed pn Oriental dance, and Miss Avis Poiier and Mr. Cameron Wilfred tripped it in a specialty ballroom dance, while some pretty stepping was also done ny a number or little people of considerable talent, \monj; the vocal items which afforded the audience much pleasure was a quartet l>y Messrs. Rees. Rowell. Sherlock and Watson, and sonjrs by the Mtssps .Tudv Abbott PlUHis Ahlers. Lily OXenry. and Mr. Carl Paul while the "Spanish Troubadours" proved a pronounce.; success in "Miserere. - and "The Hawaiian Blue Bird." Another performance which appealed largely to the popular palate was the rendering of "Snancc" by Rush Monro's jazz orchestra and a jrood deal of merriment was turned loose by the work of a band'of small boys in some comical burlesque turns. The entertainment will be repeated this evening and to-morrow evening.
