SUBJECT TO MODIFICATION BY LOCAL INFLUENCES. MILAN, September S. Signer Barriceli, after experimenting for many years with a special apparatus, has discovered that gravitation is subject to great loral modifications, which .-ire partly due to external causes, including tides. A very important factor of the discoveries modifying the theories of Newton and Lnplaue relates to the influences of electricity nn gravitation, which may be invert'fl during a hurricane.—(A* and X.Z.
