CIATB IN THE UNIVERSITY BUILDINGS. j APPOINTMENT OF TEAM LEADERS. The question of providing for the social needs of students of the Auckland College in the new University buildings has been before the notice of the Students' Association for some considerable time. In response to a request from the etudente the College Council has set up a committee, consisting of representatives from the Council, the Professorial Board, graduates and students. An estimate from the architects, Messrs. Lippincott and Billson, has put the amount required to build adequate accommodation at about £15,000. The committee has decided to raise this sum. It is proposed to approach firet the students and graduates of the College before appealing to the public. The students have already given the sum of £600, which is the proceeds of the recent capping carnival. To supplement this cum a campaign has 'been started amongst the students to raise another £000. At a meeting held on Thursday night the students present unanimously pledged themselves to support the effort. Messrs. Leonard and Davis and Miss M. G. Brown addressed the meeting, stressing both the claims which the College has upon each student, and also the advantages that will accrue from the setting up of an institution that will serve as a club for past and present members of the College. The campaign will extend over next week, concluding on Saturday, September 17. Tho committee is asking each student to subscribe the sum of £1 towards the fund, and arrangements are being made whereby those who so desire it may liquidate their obligation at any time within twelve months from date. The following team leaders have been selected to represent their respective faculties:—Law: Messrs. Gallagher, Hall, Haddow, and Jordan. Commerce: Messrs. Holt and Moore. Arts: Mr. Alley. Science: Mr. G. H. Munro. Engineering: ■Mγ. Macky. The following committee will also wait upon the women students: Mioses Entrican, Adams, Thorpe, Bethel, Fitzgerald, Haetie, and Berman.
