There was an unusually large ami enthusiastic number of players present. The action of the Reserves Committee in closing the Victoria I'ark for football on Saturday next \va<s regretted, and it was re.solved that when again applying for grounds next year, the committee ■be requested to at least give the A.I.A. one week's notice that grounds will lie <*lo*-ed, so , that competitions may be coucluded. ' ) The members of the touriaj team who succeeded in winning the Brown Shield last Saturday from Wellington, aud the managers, were present, and tbe captain. Mr, D. 0"B. Corbett, amidst great enthusiasm, handed tile coveted trophy over to the Mr. Ball reported on the tour. and apoloeised for the absence of his comanager, Mr. Bagrio, who liad continued ou to Canterbury. behalf of the A.F.A.. complimented the representatives and the managers on their achievement, and expressed the pleasure rhat all the executive felt to .hear that the tnur had been brought to such a satisfactory ..inclusion. The knowledge that 'the tour bad been carried through without friction bad been a source of pleasure to all concerned The holding of the shield would be a responsibility that entailed great work for all concerned, but it would be the means of advancement of the game in Auckland. Cheera were called for the representatives, and Mr. Williams announced that a suitable memento would be presented to all members of the team when the season's trophies were presented. It was decided to continue the competitions in all grades on Saturday nest. and. owing to the closing of Victoria I'ark, all matches will be played on the North 'Shore. .Representative games between the fourth and fifth divisions will be played with the Y.Sf.C.A.
