SMALLER AREA SOWN. INCREASE IN PASTURAGE. LONDON, August 10. Ihe Board of Agriculture returns for 1020 show that the farmed area of England and Wales under crops and grass was 20,139,000 acres, a decrease of 3(58,000 acres. The area under wheat was 1,078,000 acres, an increase of 10.'J.000 acres. The barley acreage declined by 202,000 acres, and oats by 137,000 acres. Returns of live stock are as follow: — Increase.
