A CANNIBAL TRIBE. NEW SPECEES OF GORILLA. LONDON, July 20. A ' thrilling narrative of a seven months' journey through unknown regions of the Belgian Congo is related in the "Daily Mail' by Captain Phillips. Many strange tribes were encountered by Captain Phillips, who crossed a. waste tract dotted with piles of clean-picked skulls, the work of cannibals. A new type of gorilla, differing from all known species, and more closely akin to man, was discovered; also new species of the otter and pigmy elephant. Captain Phillips says he discovered on I rocks footmarks of natives believed to be the tirst men on the earth. — (United 1 Service.)
