A FRONTIER SKIRMISH.
CONVOY HEED UP. (Received 10.30 a.m.) DELHI, July 20. An official frontier communique states that a convoy of 80 armed men and 1:50 .followers was held up at Shahur Tungi ]by 100 Abdullai and J>Hab IChels, occupying a position qji both sides of the j Slfahur Tungi River, which at this point lis only 30ft wide between sheer cliffs, ifrom which the enemy dropped hoiu/s 'and opened fire, the first volley killing .nine, including the officer commanding the advance guard. The artillery was unable to get a sufficient angle of descent to dislodge the enemy, and reinforcc.ments from Chagmulai also failed, hut ' our troops eventually mastered the situation. Our casualties included two British officers, one sub-assistant surgeon, and 13 Indians killed, and two British and I 4 Indians wounded. — (Reuter.)
