THE JOCKEYS' FEES CASE.

A number of cases were called at the Magistrate's Court this morning in which the New Zealand Jockeys' Association sought to recover from a number of members their propprtion of winning fees payable under the rules. Some were struck out owing to the sums having been paid. One was adjourned to allow evidence to lie taken at Dunedin. In the other cases there was no appearance for the defence, and on the application of Mr. VV. Vallance, who represented the Association, judgment was given by default for the following amounts-— £39 10/8, £9 17/6, £9 3/6, £13 11/3 £9 2/, £10 16/9, £16 4/2, £4 2/, £5 7/6 £12 1/6, £2 11/, and £20 15/3. Costs were allowed in each case.
