FIRE BRIGADE DISPUTE.
WAIHI TROUBLE SETTLED. J (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.* WAIHI, this day. The trouble in connection with the Waihi Fire Brigade, following the suspension of two firemen by the superintendent for alleged refusal of duty was satisfactorily settled at a meeting of all the parties concerned before the Fire Board last evening, the conference having been opened on Saturday night. The board appointed ex-Deputy-Super-intendent Lockington as Superintendent to reorganise the brigade, exForeman Stamp "being nominated as Deputy-Superintendent. All the present members of the brigade expressed willingness to work under the newly appointed officers.
