TARIFF RECIPROCITY.
AMERICA MAY ADOPT SYSTEM. HELPING THE DEBTOR NATIONS L (Beceived 10.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, iliy 28. The Ways and Means Committee of the House of Representatives appears likely to include a provision for reciprocity in the tariff measure which ivill be , submittted to a special session of Congress- It is felt that the need for reciprocity is dictated by the fact that the United States is a creditor nation, and discrimination favouring , debtor nations must be shown in order to continue foreign trade. Representative Longworth, a member of the committee, said that this could effectively be accomplished only through separate reciprocal trade agreements. He added, however, that the United States must maintain home markets, at the same time continuing a commanding position in the world's markets.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
