• Mr. Prenderville, of the Public Trust Office, Wellington, has been transferred to Dunedjn. Dr. C. J. Reakes, D'reetor-Oeneral of Agriculture, and Mrs. Reake? left by last night's express. . Mr. C. I. Xattrass, who arrived in Wellington by the Tahiti, came on to Auckland by the express.
•Professor J. C. Johnson, of Auckland University, returned from San Francisco by the Tahiti to Wellington. Archdeacon Tnke will be inducted to the charge of Ellersl'e Anglican Church next Sunday by "Bishop Averill. The Rev. AY. J. Elliot, of Devonport Methodist Church, leaves in April for his fresh charge at Xew Plymouth. Mr. J. McLeod. o-f Xew Plymouth, president of the N.Z. Rushy Union, left for Feilding by last night's express. Mr. J. MctD. Stevenson, Mayor of Port 1 Chalmers, is amongst the Southern visi-l tors who came to Auckland to witness I the yacht race for the Sanders Memorial Cup. I The Hon. Arthur Myers, M.P., who 1 arrived .from AVellington by the express,' is staying at the Northern Club. Mrs. Myers and the children remain in England. Dr. 11. E. Harris and Dr. YV. .T. P. Hutchison have been appointed house surgeon* to Wellington Hospital, vice Dr. Salmond and Dr. Allison, who resigned. Messrs. Vernon n. Reed. M.P., and Archibald F. Hawker have been appointed members of the Comm'ssion appointed to inqnire into the proposals to amend the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, .1009. Mr. Reed is appointed cha'rman in the place of the Hon. YV. Downie Stewart, who resigned. Mr. John Oaughley, the newly appointed Director of __t>eation, was a passenser by the Manuka from Wellington for Australia. His visit is for the purpose of investigating the development if education in the Commonwealth. He will also attend the inter State Conference on Education at Sydney on March 23, 20, and 30.
