A similar comment in the Australian Tory papers i.reeipitated r he st. wards -trike. 1 al-o note that the Tramways Union in Wellington have given notive to sever their connection with the Arbitration Court The public who are most nearly* affected, should make a move and present a great, petition to Parliament praying for a compulsory meeting of both parties to the waterside dispute, and not stand off like the writer of the editorial comment and say "might is right." for,—JVJL. represent, the employer and the "flr?WrrT ("rflT'erfrmeiit. The Tramways Union resolution to withdraw from the Arbitration Court f would like" to see rescinded, and in its place substituted that tiey will' accept an award for six months to December, or until after the next gr-nernl election, for then the present Government will be on tbe Opposition benches, where they will not be able to' do much harm. I hope that what at one time wns accepted as the safeguard of employer and employee, namely, the Arbitration Court, will not. like the moa. become extinct. —1 am etc., •THAN OF ARC.
