YOUNG WOMAN KIDNAPPED. HELD FOR RANSOM. \ ■ (Received 10.30 a.m.) NEtV YORK, January 28. A remarkable kidnapping case, which is attracting attention throughout America, has just occurred at Los Angeles. A beautiful young married woman named Mrs. O. S. Witherel, aged 23 years, has been stolen by a party of men. The men called at her home and said her husband had been injured in a motor car accident. Mrs. Witherel, leaving her eighteen-months-old baby with a \ neighbour, accompanied the men to the supposed accident. The first thing the husband, knew of his wife's whereabouts was when he received a note demanding | 50,000d0l ransom. The writer added: : "All will be lost if the police are; notified."—(A. and N.Z.
