ARMS FORBIDDEN
IN ITALIAN RIOT AREAS. LABOUR HALL BURNED. MILAN, January 27. The Prime Minister (Signor Giolitti) has issued a decree embracinjr the cities and provinces of Modena. Ferrara, and Bologna, revoking permission to carry firearms. It orders the prefects to take immediate and effective steps to disarm the population.
The Chamber of Labour at Bologna was destroyed by lire. Nationalists overpowered the military, set tire to every room, and burned the place to the ground. The building hitherto has been tbe headquarters of Communistic Socialism in Italy. The contents, which were destroyed, included vast archives relating to the entire ramifications of the movement throughout Italy.
Cafes, theatres, and public resorts in the disturbed provinces have been closed. Armoured cars patrol Modcna. Nationalists raided the premises of the journal ••Av-nti - ' and set fire to a book store.— (A. and N.Z. Cable. I
