ANGRY SETTLERS.
— • A CUT OFF WATER SUPPLY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. At a large meeting of settlers of Patetonga it was stated that the Lands Department had cut off the water in the I Patetonga Road sections from the use of j stock. Great indignation was ex-pressed ' and the following resolution was carried: "That in the opinion of this representative meeting of Patetonga settlers the recent action of the drainage engineer in cutting off water needed for stock on the Patetonga Road constitutes an outrage, and we view with disgust the method of dealing with the settler whose right to the same has been, in our opinion, established by the Department he serves." The general administration of the Department was also strongly condemned ar.d a motion was passed asking for a Royal Commission of inqairy.
