REGULATION OF SALES.

The Prime Minister has received a cable from the Director-General of Raw Materials, stating that the demand for crossbred at the London November wool sales was very limited, particularly for coarser qualities. Reserves were based on approximately the following prices for A and B grade:—Average combing, greasy .wools, 60 to 64, merino, 24d to 26d; 50-58, half bred, 20_dto26id. 48-50, fine crossbred, 17id to _o.d; 44-46, medium crossbred, 15d to 16} d; 36-40, coarse crossbred, 13$ dto 14id. The Director-General adds it is his intention to fix limits for greasy wool of 44,46 and below at the December sales, at the net New Zealand appraisement prices without any addition for charges. These are approximately:—44-46, 15_d to 17d; 36 40, 14§d to 15_d. He estimates the following prices at which wool would sell freely:—oo-64. merino, 24d to 26d; 56-58, halibred, IOJd to 25Jd; 48-50, fine crossbred. 15} dto 18} d; 44-46, medium crossbred, 12.d to 14d; 36-40, coarse crossbred, 10jd to ll.d.
