TRANSPORT FEDERATION.
RAILWAYMEN'S SCHEME. (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The formation of the Australian Railways Union has been completed, with a membership of fifty thousand, embracing all the railway unions in the Commonwealth. Negotiations are proceeding for affiliation of tlie seamen, the wharfies, and all other transporters. The secretary of the new union states that when the linkin" up is completed they will be co-operating with 150,000 other workers, and will be able to enforce their demands in any part of the Commonwealth. The Stonemasons', Cabmen's, and Motorbus Drivers' Unions have withdrawn their affiliation from the Labour Council, owing to the extremist views held by the majority of the Council's !delegates.—(A- and N.Z.
