A BACKWARD HOTEL. The Auckland Licensing Committee eat this morning, Mr. E. C. Outten, S.M., presiding. Sub-Ingpector Wohlmann' re- ] ported on the United Service Hotel that I ■ many of the renovations previously ; , asked for, including the installation of ! hotswkter, had not yet been carried out. j Mr. Cutten said the Committee had very ] strong views on thie matter. They con- | eidered that no attempt had been made ;to carry out their wishes and directed i the CleYk of the Court to write to the present licensee bringing the matter under his notice. "This hotel is the most -'backward in the city and is n. sond donl below standard," said tho Sub-Inspector. Six transfers were npproved as follow:—Grand Hotel, James Rolleston to : Joseph. Albert Stivet, Henry Arthur Lloyd to David Martin Wilson: Risinsr Sun Hotel, i IKaranorahape Road, Jolin Jeremiah Sullivan to Samuel Thompson: Royal Georee Hotel, Newmarket, James Yuill to O. W. Dunmore.
