COST OF LIVING BONUS.

AUCKLAND WORKERS' CLAIMS. CONCILIATION SKFTLEMTTNTS. Full settlement-; in a number of Auckland applications for amendments of» awards in relation to the cos. of living bonus, -which have been reached by the Conciliation Council, will come before the Arbitration Cousrt next- week for ratification. These include tire following:—Front of the house picture shows, theatres, etc., employees; hotel employees; tallymen; electrical workers; timber workers, butchers; hardware assistants; plumbers; local bodies' employees; waterside foremen arid timekeepers: engineers Cbrasa Bnishers, tinsmith, sheet and metal workers; plasterers; uphol__re_6es; wicker workers; bakers and pastry cooks; printers' machinists and bookbinders; 'brick and pottery and ola/ workers; brewers and wine _.nd spirit employees. The following have been partially settled by the parties, and will also come before the Court:—Coopers; federated works and stewards; creameries; cheese and butter factories employees; stonemasons; storemen and packers (general section); and engine drivers. (No recommendation has been made by the Council in the hotels and restaurant employees-' case, and no settlement has been reached in the following:—Furniture trades and fibrous pla.ter manufacturers. A complete settlement has been reached in the claim of the Gisborne bakers and pastry cooks' employees, which will be .heard on Monday with tihe Auckland business, but no settlement is announced in that of the country local bodies' labourers. Applications for amendments ot awards in Gisborne matters will be heard on Monday, September 13. The following compensation cases are also set down for hearing:—Benny v. Wilson and Hot.on; King v. Wliakata-io Borough Council; Ivicevich v. The King; Bonney v. Littlewood and Bateman;; Rooike v. Niccol and Orr; Ha-kins v. ditto; Jalfon v. ditto; Bean v. Cooper.; and Sutton v. VJS.S. Co. There is other oufiness m addition to the li-t advertised in the "Star" last week.
