AMERICA CUP.
THE CANADIAN CHALLENGE. SUGGESTION TO LLPTON. (Received 0.30 a.m.) MONTREAL, August 30. The Canadian yachtsman, Mr. Ross, who is at the head of the syndicate which has challenged for the America Cup on behalf of Canada, has published an open letter to Sir Thomas Lipton asking him either to withdraw his declared intention to challenge for the America Cup in 1921 for 1922, or to agree to make the next race triangular. Mr. Ross also asks for a change of course and class of yachts, pointing out that public interAt in the last race waned owing to the failure of the Shamrock and the Resolute to answer requirements in a really heavy wind.— (A. and N.Z.
