A communication lias been forwarded 1 from the office of the Minister of Lands 1 nt Wellington to the secretary of the ' Soldiers Mothers' League, stating that i the question of introducing legislation to enable certain lands to be removed from Xational Endowment is under consideration of the Government. The object primarily is to give better facilities for dealing with certain poorer lands in the North, which are now included in the I endowment, and which can only be satisfactorily disposed of under special condi--1 lions. The letter further states that if this is done it is almost certain that any proceeds or revenue derivable from lands removed from that endowment would continue to be allocated «.s at present for 1 education and old age purposes.
