In the ajfternoon an interesting exhibition game between Mita Karaka and Thompson ■resulted in the latter winning by 45 after a close game. A big gathering witnessed the meeting °Z Valint-ne I'JO) and. Biinsdea (250). Brinsden stanted al'tract-vely, playing 'the losing hazard game with great finish and certainty. He isoon pushed over 300 aliead. VaHntlne, with excellent allround play, -educed the gap to a hnndired, but 'Brinsden again increased his lead, to win eventually by 134 points. Valint-ae made breaks of 29, 60, 72, 23, 50, 56 and 20, against __r_r_?den'_ 37, 28, 2S, 20, 2_, 29, 22, SB, 37 and 38. To-night --Diggl*' will oppose 'Russell.
