THE GAS SHORTAGE
CONTINUATION OF REDUCED PRESSURE. PROSPECTS OF COAL ON MONDAY. The reduced pressures ar"e still being maintained by the Auckland Gas Com° pany. On Sunday the gas pressure will be' reduced from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.iy. and in the evening from 8.30 to 7 a.m. on Monday. Nothing as yet has been decided regarding the reduced pressures to be made on Monday. It is, however expectefl by then that prospects will have brightened. With regards the supply of coal the company announces that the Karori should arrive here to-morrow afternoon from Westport with 650 tons aboard. The Kaitangata is also expected on Monday from Newcastle. She brings about 1400 tons of coal.
