INSPECTING THE FORCES.
OF SALVATION ARMY. GENERAL BOOTH'S VISIT. In continuation of his tour of tho colonies, General \V. Bramwell Booth, the head of the Salvation Army, in clue at Auckland on Friday next. The General will have but a short stay in the city, leaving early in the following week for Vancouver. General Booth after having acted as second in command to his illustrious father, the founder of the movement, succeeded to the command on the latter's death. His initial visit to Australasia for the purpose of inspecting and promulgating the work of the Army has been marked by enthusiastic receptions. On urrival here on Friday afternoon he will be jriven a civic reception at. the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall, the Mayor presiding. His first meeting will be held sit the same building on Saturday night. Sunday morning is reserved for private consultation with the Army representatives, but in the afternoon at the Town Hall he will deliver a lecture entitled "Some Lessons of My Father's Life," the Deputy-Mayor presiding. In the evening an evangelistic sen ice will be held at the Town Hall, while on Monday night, at the Tabernacle, a public meeting will he held, th<> subjects for discussion having particular relevance to that section of the community whose ages range from fifteen to twenty-six.
