ACTIONS FOR POSSESSION.

. Practically the morning was occupied at the Magistrate's Court to-day with actions taken to recover possession of tenements. In two instance*, orders for possession on Bxed dates were coneented to by. the tenants. Mrs. Norah Lewis (Mr. Kirfcer) sought to recover from Mrs. ETia Reese (Mr. Horrocks) Counsel for the tenant said Iris client 'had eight children, four under 14 years [of age. The defendant said: "I "don't 'know wliere on ■earth I can get another place if I >have to get out of this one, when I ihave eight children , living at home."

Mr. Kirker explained that the house had been sold and the purchaser wanted possession.

He had given ten shillings each to two men to try and find him a house, promising another 30/ if th«y succeeded. The purchaser gave evidence that 'he had three young children. 'Mr. Poynton held that in this case the hardship was on the side of the purchaser of the houee as he had practically three babies. An order was therefore made for poeseseion within five weeks.
