INCREASE IN WELLINGTON.

"WELLINGTON, Monday.
The influenza notifications in the Wellington health district continue to increase. For the week ended at noon to-day 1149 cases were notified, an increase of 351 compared with the figures for the previous, week. Of the latest notifications 1112 were classified as mild, 24 pneumonic, and 13 severe.
An increase is ate i> reported in t tie number of cases of pneumonia, 23 notifications having been received last week against 8 for the previous week.
The district health officer emphasises the fact that the ratio of pneumonic cases to mild forms of the disease remains low, so that the situation could be held !o be satisfactory.
