CONCILIATION COUNCIL.

ELECTRICAL DISPUTE SETTLED. The hearing of the dispute between the Electrical Workers' Union and the employers was continued yesterday afternoon, when a complete agreement was reached. The principal point at issue— wages—was decided as follows: Journeymen electricians and armature-winders to be paid a flat rate of 2/ an hour, together with a coat of living bonus of 3d an hour; workers in charge of other workers, or employed on dirty work, tc be paid an extra 3d an hour. Where met are engaged on country work, the employer shall either pay hoard and lodging or an extra 5/ a day for seven days a week. Apprentices to receive 15/ a week for the first year, 20/ for the second, 25/ for the third, and 35/ for the fourth, after whic hthey shall receive 1/3 an hour as improvers, present apprentices to receive the increase forthwith. Hours of work, conditions, and overtime are the same us in the existing award. i The new award is to come into force on I June 1, and remain in operation two i years. I" This morning the Commissioner (Mr. P. Hally) resumed the interrupted hearing of the Auckland Ctiy Council and Suburban Local Bodies Labourers' disi pute. An agreement was reached on all points so far discussed, and the opinion was expressed by thn Commissioner and the assessors that in all probability a final settlement of the whole dispute will be reached before the Council rises this afternoon.
