GLUT OF APPLES.
ON WHOLESALE MARKET. DEPRESSION SETS IN. The price of apples on the retail' market should be very easy at the pre-1 sent time, as there is a glut of this | fruit on the wholesale markets, with the result that they are very depressed. Another contributing factor to thie de-j preesion is the bad weather* I Thousands of caeee of apples are streaming into the wholesale market, and to date, it has not been able to recover itself. The position ie made more acute by reason of the fact that there still remains a large quantity to go into cool storage, which it ie hoped will be avail-1 able shortly. The crop of apples in the Auckland district this year is fully double that of last year, and the game position is said to apply in every fruit growing district in the Dominion.
