'PLANE IN A COALSHED.
EFFECT OF HEW WING TYPE. ■ i SYDNEY, May 12. 1 In connection with the recent cabled accounts of improved aeroplane wings, a letter has juet been received in Sydney from the Handley-Page Company, which states that the improvement will result in the production .of email aeroplanes, costing from £150 to £200, which maybe housed in premiere no bigger than coal sheds, and may be used for a weekend journey of 500 miles. Its development will 'enable a machine, which at present has a span of 100 ft, to reduce its plane area to 30ft and yet retain the same carrying capacity. This will apply to all classes of machines.—(A. and XZ. Cable.)
