COAL FOR ELECTRIC POWER.
ENOUGH TILL SUNDAY NIGHT. Inquiry was made of the Mayor. Mr. J- H. Gunson. regarding the coal stocks at present held by the council, and how long it would keep the tram service, lighting and power going. His Worship said: "We have only enough coal to carry on these services until Sunday night. Presuming the strike to be settled, and work promptly resumed, the council has coal at present hung up on the railway, which if quickly delivered should be sufficient to keep both services going without any break. but it will cut things very fine, and any delay will greatly inconvenSene* citizens."
