SLUMP IN FREIGHTS.
CUNARD COMPANY FORECAST. BREAKING VICIOUS CIRCLE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 29. At tile Cunard Co.'s annual meeting, Sir A. A. Booth, the chairman, said that he was quitie prepared for a slump in freights. When the storm was over things would be better. He hoped that the result would definitely break the vicious circle of rising wages and rising prices. The chairman said that the Aquitania was being converted to run by oil fuel. Two vessels had recently been launched, and eleven others were being built. All would be oil burners. — (A. and N.Z.)
