AL'CKDAXD WINS HOMIK-AXD4HOJJ S The home and tome match between rifle club representatives of the various military districts, whlrti was arranged for at the last DJR.A. Meeting, was concluded on Saturday, when the Wellington team fired on the Trentham range. The Auckland team carried off the first honours with the total score of 1147, an average per man of 1)3.7 points. The three best scores were registered by 'Dixon, 101; Bryan. 100; and, iPatricb. 97. Wellington came second with the creditable score of 1097, an average per man of 91.5 points. The top scorer was F W. ChiUß, who secured 99 points—a fine came R. C. Barkle. with 96 points. The Wellington team had to contend with a tricky rear wind, and, in addition, a fading Sight prevailed at the 600 yds range. D. J. Gulney was captain, and was ably assisted by G. 'Halllday, ex-champion of Xew Zealand, as coach. The Canterbury team, which shot in very bad weather, registered a total of 1039. The Otago team got their shootln= off In conjunction with the Otago Rifle Meeting. The team was selected and the individual scores of members were taken from the result board at that meeting. Unlike the other teams the Otago men received no coaching. R. Gillbch compiled the excellent total of 97. Possibles wax* secured in the match by the followtnj:—Woods, McKelOi, Patrick, IHowell, and Yeo.
