IF -MIXE-OWXERS AGREE. . \ . . (By Telegraph.—Own Corrosiioadeut.) WAIHI, this day. Tile prospect of an early action by the Government to bring about v settlement of the dispute is brighter, a telegram having been received here this morning \from Mr. Arbuckle (secretary to the Coalminers' Federation), intimating that the Prime Minister is prepared to arrange a conference between the partie9 to the dispute, subject to the mineo-ivners consenting, the chairman to be a Conciliation Commissioner, with ilr. O'Rourke to act for the men. Mr. Arbuckle ad- ! vised the union to accept the suggestion. and this course was agreed to. It ia understood the conference will be held at the earliest possible moment provided the mineowners agree.
