A harrowinjjjdescription of the Jewish pogroms in South Russia last year is detained in the Kicff Relief Committee report. Over 30,000 wore murdered in the Ukraine, of which number 15,000 murders lire ascribed to General Jet- j lura's regulars, especially when the troops were compelled to evacuate territory. Altogether 372 places were registered where pogroms occurred, bringing the total to 70.000 victims. Numbers died in their wanderings after being thrown out of express trains. Women were frequently violated before being slain. Only the bayonets were used, because of the expensiveness of cartridges. Crenades were thrown into cellars where Jews were hidinpr. The tortures inflicted by the "Reds" included the tearing out of beards with specially adapted wire.— (Imperial News, P.A.)
