SALE OF GERMAN LINERS.
OPINION OF CONGRESS INVITED. (Received A a.m.) NEW YORK. February 15. The Cnite*d Press correspondent at Washington states that the chairman, Mr. J. B. Payne, told the Senate Commerce Committee that the Shipping Board would delay selling thp former German liners if Congress voted disapproving the step. He said the great need for passenger ships made the sale imperative. The Shipping Board contemplates selling tbe vessels to Americans only.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.l
