TAXI DRIVER ASSAULTED.
An act of violence, followed by robbery, was committed on Saturday afternoon, the victim being a man named j Reginald L. Short, a taxi-driver of the je-ity. He was engaged by two men for a run to Mangcre, via Onehunga, and it is alleged that after discussion about the fare, Short was struck from behind with an aerated water bottle, and his pocket wallet was appropriated. Short was badly cut about the head.
