Mr. F. F. Hockly, M.P. for Rotorua, j left for Wellington last night. | Mr. Vernon Reed, M.P., was a passenger for Wellington by the express yesterday. Mr. William Callender, late general manager of the Bank of Xew Zealand, is visiting Auckland. Miss Mina Caldow, having fulfilled her engagement with the New South Wales State Orchestra, has returned to Auckland. Mr. B. E. Murphy, M.A., L_B., B. Com., F.R.E.? has been appointed McCarthy Professor of Economies at Victoria College. j His Lordship Bishop Averill is leaving :by the Ruapehu at the end of the month to attend the Lambeth Conference. On Sunday morning next he will hold a confirmation service at St. Peter'a | Church, Takapuna. ! The Rev. E. E. Maiden, M_.., who was for some time on the staff of King's College, Auckland, and lately a chaplain at the Front, has been licensed as assistant priest in the parish of St. Alban, Auckland. Commandant T. E.
